Suggestion about structure Edit

I propose that we use one page per question (or, where appropriate) one page per topic. Then we link to these pages from this main page. (I wrote this directly on the start page, to have it visible, but that's obviously a temporary location. TobiF 21:04, November 25, 2010 (UTC)

How do we categorize FAQs ? MAC ? PC? Open Source? Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced users? Desktop? Servers? Infrastructure [routing and switching]? Hardware? Software? MS Office? From what I've seen the last year or 2 in the Q&A forum, most of the questions asked are basic level 1 help desk questions. Should we direct Q&A to the FAQs for those? Hmm. You raise an interesting question. Is the target to create a FAQ about how to use TR (or even more specifically TR forums) or a wider FAQ for any IT-related topic? The latter could turn out to be an enormous task (and for many of the areasy you listed, I'm sure one can already find really good sources of information, and even some FAQs. But I also see your point, since quite a few of the questions come again all the time and over again. (I'm not only talking about "lost" passwords, but also "my HDD fell to the floor, then it gave some strange sounds, but it still shows up as a unit..." etc.) I think Sonja's initial idea was to create a FAQ for howto use TR, but it could really be useful to get a wiki, where we could organize some of the most popular information. So that we could easily link to an updated resource. TobiF 06:53, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
